Grinder Service
Grinder Pumps are an expensive piece of equipment that is necessary for a home to properly function. To ensure the longevity of a grinder pump motor, proper maintenance is recommended. Bruce’s Plumbing is now offering a service to maintenance grinder pumps. This service includes the following procedures: vacuum out the station, hydro-jet the sewer to the house, and clean all internal parts of the basin. After we have thoroughly cleaned the station of all debris (wet wipes, feminine products, etc.) we will cycle the pump several times to check electrical components such as floats, capacitors, relays, etc. We will provide our recommendation should we see a need for repair, but we will not replace, or repair any product without prior approval. We will notate the condition of all parts, and take pictures for our records, and the owner(s).
We will recommend our services depending on the usage of the pump. If you are currently on our service program, as recommended, we will extend a 10% discount on service calls pertaining to the grinder pump. If you are not currently in our service program, ask us how to join.
Our recommendations for Grinder Cleaning are as follows:
Recommended schedules:
1. Single-family residence (once a year)
2. Rental property (long-term) once a year unless serviced issues become common
3. Short-term rental up to 4 bedrooms (twice a year, before spring break and end of summer)
4. Short-term rental, up to 10 bedrooms (three times a year every 4 months)
These schedules are recommended based on years of experience with pumps, and issues. Proper maintenance will typically extend the life of grinder pumps, and reduce problematic service calls.
